COVID-19 Policy

Kim Williams | November 30, 2020

As the Covid virus continues, so too do the rumors, opinions, and confusing safety directives. Everyone has an opinion on what to do.

Our goal at US-Duct, US-Metal Crafters, and US-Enhanced is two-fold- “To keep you safe and allow you to continue to provide for your families.”

As you can imagine, these goals are often in conflict. So frankly, we have absolutely no idea as to how to guide you.

Therefore we have made this statement- and I want to renew it here-

Everyone is to do what they feel comfortable with. If you are fearful of catching the virus and fear that it will bring harm to you and your family, then by all means, you are free to stay out of work. You will not be fired or terminated!  If you think the best thing for your family is to keep working and providing, then we will keep the doors open and give you that opportunity as best as we can.

Again- we want you safe, AND we want your families cared for. But we will not decide as to how best to do that. Only you can decide that! We will simply allow you to decide without penalty.

In addition to that, we do not require wholesale testing! That too is your decision.

HOWEVER, we do expect you to notify us when you have been exposed (and with the degree of the exposure) so that we can make a determination as to your presence. At that time, we may require that you be tested and present the results to us before returning to work.

However, we do request (and expect) that you, like us, also respect each individual's decision and that you understand that each of your fellow employees has a family and obligations. As you do this, do not put them in harm’s way by showing up when sick or when having been exposed. We also expect everyone to refrain from passing judgment on each other’s individual decisions.
